AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A FOUR MONTH CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR COLLECTION OF RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE, RECYCLABLES, COMPOSTABLES AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAME ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CLARKSON VALLEY, ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MISSOURI.

            BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF CLARKSON VALLEY, ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MISSOURI, as follows:

            SECTION 1.  There is hereby approved a four-month extension to the contract with Allied Waste, for the collection of residential solid waste, recyclables, and compostables and provision of certain information required by the St. Louis-Jefferson Solid Waste Management District, in accordance with the provisions and specifications in the Agreement negotiated by the City of Clarkson Valley and Allied Waste, effective the 1st day of June 2006 through September 30, 2006.

            SECTION 2.  The Mayor of the City and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Clarkson Valley.

            SECTION 3.  Allied Waste, shall be required to furnish a performance bond in the sum of $50,000.00 in favor of the City and insurance coverage in the amount of $1,000,000.00/$2,000,000.00.

            SECTION 4.  This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
