Planning and Zoning Commission
May 3, 2010
The Clarkson Valley Planning and Zoning Commission, pursuant to notices published in the West Newsmagazine on Wednesday, April 28th, The Countian on April 14th, the Clarkson Valley website since April 12th, met at City Hall on Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Fru-Con Center's third floor Presentation Room at 15933 Clayton Road to consider two changes to the code and to make a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen.
Planning and Zoning Commission Members present were:
Frank Hodgdon, Chairman
Artie Ahrens
Gregg Bogosian
Anne Grabner
Jerry Litschgi
Commission Members Susan Shea and John Cloute were not able to attend.
The City Clerk, Michele McMahon, also attended.
After the meeting was called to order, the Chairman read the Notice of Public Hearing for the agenda item: To consider a change of language in the “PC” district code making it necessary to include plans for both attached or unattached signs to the structures; and a change to Section 405.120: Special Use Regulations allowing buildings, structures or uses within a “PC” district more than one freestanding or attached business sign as limited by 505.090.A. informational sign as limited by 505.090.B or business sign per building as limited by 505.090.D. and to make a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen.
Don Kalicak, Vice-President of Business Development and Strategic Planning, St. John’s Mercy introduced himself.
The Commission members discussed the language of the Bill finding the words “as limited by” cumbersome. After discussion, they agreed the language was in order because the City Attorney provided it
Mr. Hodgdon made a motion to recommend to the Board of Aldermen they approve Bill No. 0407 covering signs in the “PC” district with a special use permit. Gregg Bogosian seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the following result: Ayes – Ahrens, Bogosian, Grabner, Hodgdon and Litschgi. There were no nays. To which Mr. Hodgdon declared an affirmative recommendation.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
