Planning and Zoning Commission

January 27, 2021

The Clarkson Valley Planning and Zoning Commission, pursuant to notices published in the West Newsmagazine, posted on the bulletin board and the Clarkson Valley website, met on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 virtually to consider one agenda item and to make a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen.

Planning and Zoning Commission Members present were:

Gregg Bogosian, Chairman

Honora Schiller

Steve Howard

Karl Hussey

Lee Reid

The City Clerk, Michele McMahon also attended.  Commission Members Steve Benz and John Cloute were unable to attend.

After the meeting was called to order the Chairperson conducted roll call vote and determined there was a quorum present.  He then read the Notice of Public Hearing: To discuss defining and prohibiting carports; mandating a requirement for connecting elements on detached garages; adding not-for-profit organizations and the necessity to follow ADA requirements to the “A” Zone parking regulations and to make a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen.

The only question posed stemmed from a misunderstanding of the number of handicap spaces required and once that was answered, there were no further questions.

Alderperson Schiller made a motion to approve the changes to the ordinance as presented tonight, seconded by Mr. Hussey.  Chairman Bogosian reminded everyone their vote serves as a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen.  A roll call vote was then taken to accept the proposed change to the ordinance with the following result:  Yeas:  Bogosian, Schiller, Howard, Hussey, and Reid.  There were no nays.  The motion was declared as having passed.  Chairman Bogosian stated the Planning and Zoning Commission makes an affirmative recommendation to the Board of Aldermen.

The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Michele McMahon, City Clerk

City of Clarkson Valley
