REPORTS

Chesterfield Police Report

Lt. Connelly gave the June Police Report.  He spoke about the 4th of July Parade on Forest Club Drive and said Mayor Douglass was in the parade’s lead vehicle and the Chesterfield Police participated.  He said the parade was well attended with many golf carts and bicycles decorated for the occasion.  He also reported the fireworks at the Club were spectacular.  Mayor Douglass reported receiving a call from an attendee who complimented the police for handling the traffic so well.  The crowd dissipated quickly and in an orderly way.

Alderperson Schultz asked how the cameras were working at the two subdivision entrances.  President of Trustees of Forest Hills Club Estates, Valerie Denton, was present and said they were working fine and were a good fit for the subdivision’s needs.  Lt. Connelly said it was hard for him to say because the break-ins are down in our subdivisions and there hasn’t been a need to investigate camera footage.

Mayor’s Report

Court Report:  Mayor Douglass said the amount received in June 2021 for court receipts was $4,078.86.  He reported speaking with the Prosecuting Attorney and was told our first in-person court handled by Chesterfield will be July 13 in the Chesterfield Court Room.

Container Pickup:  Mayor Douglass mentioned Waste Management continues to pick up their containers.

Alderpersons’ Reports

Golf Carts Being Driven by Children:  It was noted that children have been witnessed driving golf carts in the subdivisions and asked Lt. Connelly to mention this to the officers so they can watch for that.

City Attorney’s Report

The City Attorney had nothing to report and said all is good in the City.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

There was no unfinished business.

NEW BUSINESS

2021-2022 Budget:  Alderperson McNamara made a motion to approve the 2021-2022 Budget as proposed tonight and the motion was seconded by Alderperson Meyer.  There was no discussion.  A voice vote was taken with a unanimous affirmative result and the motion was declared passed.  Everyone thanked Mayor Douglass for doing so much work preparing this annual budget.

Joell Aguirre, Account Manager with Republic Services, thanked the Board for having her attend tonight.  She reported that carts were delivered to 897 homes and 31 households have not received the trash and recycling containers yet.  They are scheduled for delivery this Wednesday and Thursday.  Twenty-seven addresses have not received yard waste containers.  Those deliveries of yard waste containers are scheduled to occur this Friday and next Monday.

Alderperson Meyer asked if Republic Services would consider delivering 32-gallon containers, to which Mrs. Aguirre said they used to provide that size cart to homes but they found it did not work with the truck’s claw.  Also discussed were the stipulations for personal containers, which should have a lid (hinged lids are preferred but not mandated.)

Audit:  Alderperson Meyer made a motion to approve payment of invoices in the amount of $64,260.74, seconded by Alderperson Blanner.  A voice vote was taken to approve the audit with a unanimous affirmative result and the motion was declared passed.

Alderperson Meyer made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Alderperson Midyett.  A voice vote was taken with a unanimous affirmative result and the motion was declared passed.  The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.

Scott Douglass, Mayor
