TRASH COLLECTION
On July 1, 2026, the City of Clarkson Valley entered into a new contract with Republic Services. Rates for each term can be found here.
General Information
The City of Clarkson Valley contracts with Republic Services for the collection of trash, recycling, and yard waste, which takes place every Monday from 7 AM to 5 PM. If your trash or recycling was not picked up contact City Hall at (636) 227-8607.

Republic Services Observed Holidays
In most cases, service will be delayed by one day.

Rear/Valet Service
- Residents must set up Rear/Valet service through Republic Services.
- Rear/Valet customers shall place containers outside of their residence as close as practicable to an access point for the collection truck.
Residents with Disabilities
- Residents who are permanently or temporarily disabled and do not have another individual liiving in the home over the age of 13 can contact City Hall and request specialized service.
- Customers shall place containers outside of their garage where it is clearly visible to the driver from the road. Maximum quantity of one trash container and one recycle container per week.
Placement of Containers
Containers and bundles shall be placed no sooner than 4:00 P.M. the day prior to pickup. The solid waste, recycling and yard waste containers shall be returned to their appropriate storage place no later than 12:00 Midnight after collection.
Containers, bags, and/or bundles shall be placed curbside for collection.
Solid waste containers shall be visible from the subject property street frontage only during designated solid waste collection periods. Outside of the collection periods, containers cannot be visible from street frontage.
Acceptable Containers
Household Waste: Must use Republic Services containers, or a 32-gallon personal container.
Recycling: Must use Republic Services containers.
Yard Waste: Must use Republic Services containers, 32-gallon personal containers, biodegradeable paper bags, and/or bundled yard waste. Personal containers must be marked with a red “X”, no larger than 32-gallons, and have a lid and handle.
Recyclable Materials
Empty, clean, and dry ALL recycables. Never put recycables in containers or bags.
Yard Waste Service
- Residents must set up service with Republic Services.
- Includes grass, leaves, flowers, stalks, stems, and branches.
- Unlimited quantity as long as contained in acceptable containers. Waste put into a container cannot exceed 50 pounds.
- Acceptable containers other than Republic Services container: biodegradable paper bags and personal containers (must be marked with a red “X”, no larger than 32-gallons, and have a lid and handle)
- Branches/twigs must be no longer than 4 feet long and 2 feet in diameter and bundled with string or twine.
Christmas Tree Collection
- Free of charge for residents enrolled in the yard waste program.
- Free of charge for residents not enrolled in the yard waste program through the first three pickup weeks in January.
- If you do not subscribe to yard waste collection, call Republic Services to schedule pickup.
- Trees exceeding 6 feet in height must be cut into 4 foot sections.
- Trees must be free of ornaments and lights.
Appliances
- Collected monthly and must be scheduled in advance through customer service.
Bulk Items

- One bulk item per household will be picked up each week at no charge.
- Residents needing additional weekly collections must contact customer service in advance.
- Acceptable items:
- Carpet (cut into bundles, tied with rope or twine, not exceeding 50 pounds, no longer than 4 feet long and 3 inches in diameter)
- Furniture (couches, chairs, dressers, tables, bookshelves, desks, headboards, etc.)
- Mattress sets
- All nails/staples or anything sharp must be removed.
Unacceptable Materials
Republic Services will not pick up the following items:
- Batteries
- Concrete
- Construction debris, home remodel debris, or demolition debris of any kind
- Shingles, drywall, vinyl siding, molding/trim, fencing, kitchen cabinets, etc.
- Electronic waste (TVs, computer monitors and accessories, DVD and VCR players, etc.)*
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Lead/oil-based paint, varnish, driveway sealants, or other hazardous materials
- Loose trash or trash in cardboard boxes
- Pool tables
- Tires
